Photography

With a focus on polished yet natural compositions, let’s work together to produce an impactful photo series that showcases your work in the very best light. I value a collaborative approach and a shared passion for storytelling and scrupulous attention to detail. My retouching style is crisp and restrained, in the spirit of quality over quantity.

Short-form videography

94.4% of internet browsers are viewing content on their smartphones versus desktops. Editorial-style short-form video that is optimised for your clients to view across your social channels, website, and email campaigns creates a dynamic and impactful experience of your work.

Creative direction and styling

For a comprehensive approach to crafting a visual narrative, creative direction ensures aesthetic cohesion right through from concept to final image. Overseeing your vision involves thorough pre-production planning to clarify the look and feel of the shoot, advising on and sourcing styling items and finishing touches, campaign location selection, and on-day art direction to ensure the final images adhere to your desired style.

Working together

The completion of your project represents the culmination of many months, if not years, of design and execution. It’s a significant milestone. Having your projects professionally photographed legitimises and celebrates these efforts, and being entrusted to document them is a process I undertake with consideration and care.

I absolutely love what I do. A warm, collaborative, and communicative dynamic both on- and off-site is my baseline when working together: It’s how I produce my best work, and it’s how we ensure your design efforts are showcased in their best light.

In my very fortunate experience, what I have come to love most about working in the design space is what I would describe as a collective commitment to collaboration. In that spirit, I outline my creative process and pricing model below to give you a sense of what you can expect, should you be interested in working together.

Creative process: I approach each project in three distinct phases

1 — Pre-Production

I always endeavour to respond to commission enquiries within 48 hours. After preparing a bespoke services estimate for your project, I share my terms and invoice a 50% Retainer Fee to reserve a shoot day.

Once confirmed, we discuss:

  • Creative direction: any requests for creative consultation or oversight, including understanding your key objectives for the shoot to ensure we make the best use of your time on-site.

  • Walkthrough and shot list: If scheduling allows, I find it invaluable to arrange an advance walkthrough for 30-45 minutes together, prior to shoot day. This allows me to assess lighting and composition considerations beforehand, and enables us to co-create a shot list to both maximise efficiency and ensure every relevant detail is captured.

  • Logistics and scheduling: If required in advance, I offer support in advising and coordinating shoot timelines and contingency planning via phone calls or in-person meetings.

2 — Shoot Day

I like to arrive early to allow enough time for us to settle in and unpack, and ensure we commence on schedule and in accordance with the shot list. With that said, shoot day is an adaptive and collaborative process, and your input is always welcome!

Composing each frame is meticulous, and “hero” scenes can often take up to 45 minutes to compose. This often involves adding (or blocking) light and adjusting the position of furniture items and all decor elements. My camera system is wirelessly tethered to an iPad with CamRanger software for us to easily notice, evaluate, and adjust the elements within each shot.

3 — Post-Production

Post-production is, by far, the most time-intensive phase of a project to prepare and deliver the final retouched series of images. I endeavour to deliver final images within 10 business days.

The very best photos from shoot day are organised, processed using industry standard retouching software (CaptureOne and Photoshop), and delivered as a proof set. From here, you are welcome to select the images you feel best represent your project.

Processing and retouching involves ensuring colour accuracy, proper exposure and contrast to achieve the desired look and feel of the campaign, and advanced corrective techniques (for distraction removal, etc.)

Once the final invoice is paid, images are delivered in both high resolution and web-optimised formats.

Pricing model: For individual clients and multiple parties

Whether you’re ready to visually document your project upon its completion as an individual party or in collaboration with multiple parties, my services estimate and invoices typically reflect three fee categories.

  1. Photographer Fee: Billed at a minimum of 4 hours (half-day) or at a full day, 8-hour rate (option to include either dawn or dusk)

  2. Postproduction Fee: Billed on a per image basis

  3. Usage License Fee: Billed on a per image basis; licensing fees may vary depending on your desired use of the images (e.g., digital use versus printed use). I offer a discounted rate when 10 or more images are licensed.

For multiple parties: Cost-sharing

Typically, there are several parties who might be interested in using the images captured of a completed project (e.g., the interior designer, architect, landscape architect, product manufacturers, etc.) Cost-sharing professional photography services can result in significant savings for each interested party and is the most cost-effective means of working together.

A 30% Cost-Sharing Fee is applied to the services estimate per additional party, with the total fees divided equally among all parties.

The cost-share parties must be agreed upon prior to contract approval. Following this, any additional parties interested in utilising the images must procure a license from myself directly, billed on a per image basis.
