I’ve been growing into the title of “professional photographer” since the start of 2024. Prior to then, I applied my commerce degree to a handful of corporate analytical positions in the wine trade and luxury skincare, returned to university as an Honours in Psychology graduate and researcher, and then entered motherhood. Before relocating home to sunny Perth to start a family, I lived, studied, and worked among the towering corporate offices of Melbourne and tended to my love for photography as merely a hobby.

Among many eclectic interests, design and photography have always featured prominently. Never once, however, did I consider that I could carve a career out of these interests — until I had my son. During quiet moments to myself (though elusive), I yearned for an artistic outlet, a technical skillset to develop that demanded precision, and an opportunity to study and immerse myself in varying expressions of art across history. Photography, it turns out, fulfils all three — and indeed, it has been immensely fulfilling to hone this craft to a professional standard.

I describe my photographic style as a balance of graphic precision and refined simplicity, grounded by lived-in touches. I like to work with bold yet sophisticated colour, considered negative space, and intentional shadows to craft images that are rich in contrast and atmosphere. My compositions are polished yet natural, with my guiding principle being that “perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”

I collaborated with Jenna on an interior design project, and her hands-on, collaborative approach was genuinely transformative. She took the time to understand my vision and brought it to life with beautiful, thoughtful shots that captured every detail. Her expertise in lighting and composition enhanced the space significantly, and I was impressed by her dedication to getting each shot just right. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a talented and committed photographer.
